Itinerary: South America

South America ThumbWe’re even closer to heading off – more goodbyes have been said at Kelly & Ben’s amazing wedding this weekend and we’ve both now had our last day at work. Current weather in Rio as I write is a balmy 28°c! We’re now hopefully pretty close to actually knowing our route so all the details are below. Its still, and always will be, in flux, but that is the nature and fun of backpacking!

UPDATE: Apparently the umapper interactive map I had used was crashing some people’s browsers, so below is a good old traditional jpeg that links through to the flash interactive version.

  • It all seems so real! Where is it you’ll be walking Puma’s?

  • Hello mum! Its in Bolivia, number 22 on the map but doesn’t get shown in the jpeg only in the interactive flash map.

The link is http://www.intiwarayassi.org/, its in the lowlands of Bolivia, so mozzie-land, and you’re only allowed natural repellant so expecting the whole place to stick of garlic. :o )

  • Have an amazing time you guys! PS – Kelly just called last night from the Dominican, they are being treated as VIP guests with their own VIP area and double jacuzzi in their room, am extremely jealous but very happy for them, wanted to let you know it’s all going well before you left!

    Take lots of piccies!!

    Hey guys,

Fair play to you both, trip looks fantastic. In Bolivia, make sure you don’t miss out on going to the Silver mines in Potosi. Incredible experience if a little voyeuristic. Also mountain biking down the worlds most dangerous road is good craic and not particulary dangerous.

    Have a good time.

  • Cheers all! First night went fine, about to head down the beach :) , will post a “first 24hrs” later on. PS Log haul flights are surprisingly fun, my first one and I had no idea they plied you with booze and the food just kept coming. Good start!!! :o )
